“I hate my job. I hate my boss. I hate my company”

Do your friends say this?

They feel greener pastures exist outside.

That magical company. That wonderful boss. That friendly colleague.

Bullsh*t.

You may get close to finding the right one, but chances are slim. Here’s an alternative:

Don’t depend on a single source of income.

Have guts. Have courage.

Say no to:

Bullsh*t work. Bullsh*t bosses. Bullsh*t companies.

For that, you must be financially diversified.

An 8-figure entrepreneur told me:

A company should not have >30% of its revenue dependent on 1 client.

Interesting. But why not for salaried employees? Is this possible?

Maybe.

Here’s how I’ve built a consistent side income of $4–6k+ per month outside my job. I have nothing to sell you. Nothing to prove.

All I want is the world to be a happier place.

They say money can’t buy happiness.

But it can.

Some skills here aren’t available to everyone, but #5 is my favourite (anyone can learn it).

I hope this inspires you someway, somehow to earn extra dollar bills to say no to your toxic boss or company.

PS: IT’S STILL IMPORTANT TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE, AND NOT DO IT JUST FOR THE MONEY. MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING. BUT A LITTLE MORE DOES CERTAINLY HELP :)

  1. Teaching Piano

I love music. I’ll never stop teaching it.

2. Make videos for businesses

I love helping businesses make tutorial videos. It forces me to learn new things and pays me to do so.

3. Freelance Performance Marketing

I help businesses run their online digital ads to grow sales. There’s nothing more fulfilling when your efforts tangibly contribute to business growth.

4. Create Online Courses

Teach your expertise and potentially earn income for life. I made a course about how to play the Chinese flute on Udemy and Skillshare. I earn ~$50/month

It’s not much, but it’s passive.

  1. Options Trading

The ultimate game-changer.

I re-discovered it from Kelvin, a Singapore-based YouTuber. Probably my biggest regret in university is not taking it seriously then. How naive.

Never again.
